the shadows cut my days

into three separate

layers of waters bright

in salience of you

of miracular displays

of red stony speedways

for bats blinding through

in blood quickening visions

of places left, 

promises unkept - deceits

and cheats lay

in the debris of a circle

still working its way around you

shoals will consume 

ashes - fires hidden within;

unfold in lingering images:

black kites in flight

beholden to your star

rising on the velvet dawn

light steals the words

those parting words

in danger of never

see the light of the day

these insular molecular laments

burnt offerings

to the god of sea and thunder

the fancy pearls

cutting me to pieces
